Crochet: Finished Hobo Bag

Finished. Finally. This hobo bag is alot bigger than the ones I have made for myself. I used three strands of yarn at one time to make this.
The lining didn't come out exactly as I wanted, but better than I expected. I just wasn't sure how you make the lining where the thread doesn't show, but I have no clue how you do that, so unfortunately, the thread is showing, but at least only on the inside.
This purse that I made, I know the person will wear it. And I'm glad, but I'm going to be more discerning to the people I make stuff for. For whatever reason, some people think knitted or crochet items just aren't worth alot.
Go figure!

Crocheting: Lining

here's what I have. I folded the fabric, and then pinned it so it wouldn't come loose as I'm sewing.
this part of the bag is going to be tricky, but I think I can do it. I'm glad this purse is almost done. I didn't think I'd ever finish it. It seemed to take centuries, which it probably was just about 3 months, but still, it's a long time. I give myself another week, only because the weekends are going to be very busy for me, and then you never know what may come up after that.

Thank You Robin!

Thank you, thank you, thank you Robin!
Because of one of the needles you gave me, I was able to make this. It's a hobo bag, with me using three different yarns.

Crochet: Purple Hobo Bag

I made this purple and lavender hobo bag. In the picture, that lighter yarn is actually a lavender color, but it looks white, but it's not.

I put these two yarns together, since I had done this once before using a white yarn, and it came out so small. This one is a perfect fit for me.
I took two different pictures of the same bag, so you could see the color of it.
Surprisingly simple! Thanks Teresa!
I found this pattern on her youtube channel:

Crochet: Granny Square Purse Tote Bag Finished

So, here's how I added the handles to the purse. I think I might change it though. Sometime in the future. The handles hurt when I put this over my shoulder.

Crochet: Granny Square Purse Tote Bag Help Again

Hey Cat..and anybody else who might be able to help me. These are the handles I was thinking of adding to the bag. And also, I want to add a zipper. So I'm wondering, should I add the zipper first and then the handles or does it just not matter?

And another thing is, maybe it would be better to make handles out of yarn instead of using these wooden handles. Any help on this would be much appreciated again. Thanks!

Crochet: Granny Square Tote Bag Purse Part 5 of 6

So here's the first two squares that I attached. There were two methods that I found. I'm sure that there are more than those two, but one of them, you can just sew them together. You have the two squares facing each other, and then just start sewing, using a darning needle. The second method, is to slip stitch the squares together. I chose the latter. It seemed the easiest. :D I'm starting with the base of the purse first. I don't know what happened here. I used the same yarn, the same knitting pattern, the same needle, and one came out so much bigger than the other. I have no idea what happened or what I did to make this happen. Maybe with one I crochet tighter than the other. That's the only thing I can think of.
The base of my purse is finished...Woooohooooo!!!!! I'm excited. This is actually going to be finished soon, and then I can start on my flapper hat. And also, then I won't have to use a Quizno's bag (It's made of fabric, but still, it's kind of pathetic. I'm glad I had washed it. That made the Quiznos' logo fade) as a purse.

Crochet: All Squared Out

I'm burned out on granny squares. Okay, maybe not burned out, but I saw this really cute hat, (here's the link) and I want to make it. But I don't want to stop this project and jump to something else. I have a really bad habit of doing that. Stopping one thing and then doing something else, and not finishing the first thing. I don't want to do that. I have got to stop that bad habit. I do that with books that I read. These crochet and knitting projects. My pile has gone down a bit, but that's another thing I have to work on. Just sticking with one thing at a time, until it's done. Sticking with working on my pile, and not going on to something else until I don't have a pile anymore. Anyway, I'm determined to finish this one project before I start another. And then after this, I have to finish this slouchy beret thing, and then finally this cute flapper/clouche hat I saw. In that order. I really have to do finish this bag first though. I'm using a Quizno's bag as a purse.....but desperate times call for desperate measures. Sometimes I have to laugh at myself. Anyway, hope everybody is having a good day!

Crochet: Hobo Bag Finished

It's finished but I just don't like it. I messed up on the handles. In the video the handles seamlessly come together with the bag. Mine looks nothing like that.

I'll probably use the bag for now, but I'm going to make a new one. This just does not look right. Thank goodness yarn ain't permanent. I can undo this and try something else. :(

Crochet: Hobo Bag

That's alot of yarn. I don't know why I didn't really take alot of pictures with this project. Maybe because I wasn't sure.

Anyway, I'm trying to make a hobo bag. This is the bag so far.
This is going to be the handle. According to the directions, I am supposed to make this to a certain length, and then turn the bag inside out and then sew this on the inside. Something like that.

Crochet: Little Yellow Bag

I needed a little bag to put the items that I use in the morning. Like dental floss, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.
I didn't have a pattern for it, I just kind of tried to do something off the top of my head. I think this is one of the neatest things about knitting and crocheting. If I need something, I can grap some yarn from my yarn bag and try and knit something up.

I can't remember how many I chained, just the width of how big my electric toothbrush is, and then the rest of it was just double crochets. The yarn was this beautiful 100% cotton yarn.

It was so soft to knit up. I don't even know if "soft" is the right word to use, but it just worked up so nicely. So smoothly. This yarn was actually supposed to be used for making a dishcloth. At least that's what I'm assuming, because they give a pattern for a dishcloth on the bag of the label of another blue yarn that is similar to this one.

Anyway, here's the bag. I just used a really big needle, that somebody had given me and sewed up the sides. The top I would like to get a zipper for. I figure, I would just sew the zipper just like you would sew it on to any garment.
