The Fall Of Woman

pig and lady
Just  something I noticed lately, is it me, or are most women being portrayed as whores, sluts, and/or tramps.  I get the gist of commercials.  The majority of them are just trying to sell something.  I get that.  But the way some of them are going about doing it, me personally, I don’t find it funny.  For example, the Geico commercials.  A gecko first…and now a pig.
geicowedding
I couldn’t find the picture that I wanted for this commercial.  Where there’s a young lady in the commercial who starts eyeing the gecko in this wedding scene.  Flirting I guess you would want to say.  Flirting with a gecko?  Really?
walrus
Here’s a commercial from Skittles.  A woman kissing a walrus.  I didn’t want to post the picture where they are kissing.  I thought it was gross.  Now I know, I know.  Some people may think I’m too much of a prude or a stick in the mud, and maybe I am.  I don’t care.
howardtheduck
Here’s one from way back in the 80’s.  Remember this movie.  Howard the Duck.  It seems to be that what these advertisers and movies are trying to tell you is that women will get with anybody, or in these cases “anything”. Gross.  That women have their legs open for anything.  That’s not funny to me.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When did the fall of women really happen? Years ago, when music videos first began, and there was half naked women on the screen, a video vixen?  When they first started to make bathing suits more revealing?  When a woman decided she was going to pose nude for pictures or for videos?  Who knows, really.  I don’t.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I just find a lot of things out there to be unsettling.  And what makes it even sadder, is that a lot of people don’t care about some of the things that are in commercials and television and movies.  It’s business as usual, and nobody is concerned.

Christianity And Halloween - My Thoughts (Sorry So Late)

If you're a Christian and you celebrate Halloween, it's wrong, and you need to check your salvation.
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~
The bible says that we are suppossed to be salts in this world.  That we are suppossed to be lights in this dark world.  How can we be lights in this world when we are doing the same thing that the unsaved are doing?
 ~~~~~~~~~~~
The more I look around the more that I see Christians who don't even really seem like Christians.  I know the bible says don't judge, so just pray for me.  If you want to call this judging you can, I call it fruit inspecting.  :D
~~~~~~~~~~~~
But how can you be just as tattooed up as the person next to you, and then say, I love the Lord, when the bible clearly says not to mark up your body?  Don't give that excuse, "that's Old Testament" stuff.  Old Testament or New Testament, it all came from God's mouth, so that means it's all true and it all needs to be followed.
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There really isn't alot of difference these days between a so-called Christian and a sinnner, except the Christian goes to church on Sunday and the sinner doesn't.
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There's no power in the body of Christ, because Christians are doing the same thing that the world is doing.  Getting tattoes.  Sleeping around (fornication, for those who don't know or shacking for those who are older).  Participating in Halloween.  Drinking.  Going to clubs and bars.  The list goes on and on.
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
How do you know whether you have any power or not?
(1) Are you able to draw people to Christ?
(2) Are you healthy?  Spiritually and physically?
(3)  When you pray do your prayers get answered?
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 Let's take the first one.  How can you draw somebody to Christ when you were in the club with them shacking your booty just as much as they were?  Where's the difference?  Where's that something special that might draw an unsaved person to the Lord?
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The second one, now don't get me wrong.  There are alot of reasons why Christians are sick, and it's not just because you have no power in your life.  There could be other reasons.  But when you are in a club or a bar doing the same thing as everybody else, that's sin.  How can you knowingly committ sin and then come to God asking Him to heal you?  How can you knowingly sleep around and then when you catch some sexual disease, you want God to heal you, when fornication is a sin?
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And finally, the third one, why would God answer any of your prayers when you don't even obey His word?
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Why would God heal you when just last week you had a costume on with your bag out looking for candy?  He's probably trying to figure out if you really belong to Him or not.
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
People want to serve God how they want to, when they want to, however they want to.  But the truth of the matter is, that's just not going to fly.  The bible says "come from among them and be ye separate, says the Lord".
~~~~~~~~~~~~
As I'm writing this, I'm not saying I'm perfect, so you don't even need to go there.  I'm just saying, being a Christian is being a disciplined beleiver.  It's being Christ-like.  Do you really think the Lord would be in a club?  Does that sound like something He'd do?  Trick or treating?  A tatooe?  Having sex with every woman He saw?  You know it ain't because He didn't even get married.
~~~~~~~~~~~
The Lord kept His focus on what He was put on earth to do.  Dying for our sins and resurrecting on the third day.  We need to keep our focus as well.  Being lights in this dark world.  Loving the unloveable.  Being salts of the earth.
Christianity And Halloween Part 3 Of 3
How do we teach our children to wrestle spiritually?
  • Discourage them from participating in traditional Halloween activities (2 Timothy 2:4).
  • Then tell them why.
  • Encourage them to pray on a regular, daily basis (Ephesians 6:18). Let them know first hand the power that we have in prayer. All Christians should know how to fight on their knees.
  • Remind them to be alert and self-controlled (1 Corinthians 16:13; 1 Thessalonians 5:6). Give them the discipline of knowing it is their responsibility to keep watch. They, themselves, might also become casualties in the war.
  • Make certain they are prepared for battle (Ephesians 6:11). Do they know the truth? Stand on the Word of God? Have faith? Know the gospel? Are they righteous? Are they saved?…
Instead of celebrating, what’s a Christian to do on Satan’s feast day? PRAY! Intercession and spiritual warfare should be the first item on our agenda. It is NOT a last resort!
  • Join with other families in the church. Have the pastor announce a night of spiritual battle. Organize a group of Christians parents and students from your children’s school or homeschool group. As a family, designate the seven nights before October 31 as Family Prayer Outreach nights.
  • Pray for protection. Pray over both those who engage in prayer warfare and over those who will be out trick-or-treating or at Halloween parties. October 31 is a prime recruiting time for witches and Satanists… and a time for interested kids to experiment. Pray that the Lord keeps our kids from falling prey to those who worship the enemy.
  •
  • Pray for discernment. Let the Holy Spirit direct you to specific prayer requests. Pray that the children who are “out there” will somehow “know” to keep away from certain activities.
  • Pray that the Lord hinder the occult rituals. For four years, I lived in a building which over looked a cemetery where occult ceremonial markings were often found. On certain occult feast days, usually between midnight and 3 a.m., I would look down into the darkness and kneel at my window binding the demons that controlled the ceremonies. I’ll never know this side of heaven what effect my prayers had. Maybe a potential sacrifice escaped. Maybe the occultists weren’t successful in summoning their demon. Maybe a new, young recruit decided that this was not the lifestyle he thought he wanted.
  • Pray for the salvation of the occultists. Jesus Christ died for those whom Satan holds captive and deceived, for those who mock Him, who deny His deity or His existence. He doesn’t want them to perish, but to come to Him calling Him Father, Lord. Pray the veil is lifted from their eyes, the Lord allows them to see clearly their spiritual condition and their only hope lies in Jesus Christ. Pray also, about whether the Lord would have you take a more active role in bringing the gospel to Satan’s servants.
  • Let your children know that this is effective warfare. They must know their prayers are heard and acted on by our Father. Let them know they can make a difference. Come October 31, they’ll know they have a job to do.
Christianity And Halloween Part 2 Of 3
“What are you doing for Halloween?” Ask a Christian parent this question, and be prepared to hear an answer like, “Nothing! We don’t celebrate Halloween.“ Thunder crashes, and you creep away, embarassed for even asking.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“What are you doing ON Halloween?” Ask the same parent this slightly altered question, and their whole manner and response brightens. “Why,” they begin, as birds begin to sing and sunshine breaks through the cumulus clouds. “We’re all going to the Harvest Party at church!” A choir sings. A trumpet sounds. You feel privileged just knowing these saints.
Let’s take a look at the typical Harvest Party.
  • It is a celebration.
  • It is chaperoned (usually).
  • It may have costumes.
  • Games are played.
  • Contests are held.
  • Food abounds.
  • Music blares.
  • Everyone enjoys themselves.
Certainly, nothing to get concerned about, right? The problem, however, lies in the billing. The Harvest Party is usually referred to as the Christian alternative to traditional Halloween hijinx. Alternative, however, implies substitute. It assumes our children need something to take the place of Halloween, since they won’t be participating in the secular and pagan celebrations. It suggests our kids are missing out on something. And indeed they are, if we allow them to spend Halloween in celebration.
If we are to train our children to be soldiers in the army of Christ, why would we sign a pass for them to go on leave when the battle is escalating on the front lines?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As a child of four, I contacted the first of many spirit guides (read: demons) while playing with a Kindergarten classmates’ ouija board at a chaperoned Halloween party. This spiritual assault ignited an intrigue with the supernatural that culminated in my lifestyle as a practicing witch: divination, necromancy, channeling, astrology, psychic ability, and spell working. It wasn’t until I was twenty that I met the real Jesus Christ, and was released from the trap that Satan had set for this young prisoner of war sixteen years earlier.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There are too many casualities on Halloween and far too few troops fighing the enemy. Instead of partying on Halloween, teach your children how to fight. Keep them aware that the fight isn’t against occultists, non-Christians, Christians who feel differently than we about Halloween, or institutions that promote Halloween, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers or darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12).

Christianity And Halloween Part 1 Of 3

Here's the original link where I found this article, and scroll down to where it says "Halloween":

The October 31st holiday that we today know as Halloween has strong roots in paganism and is closely connected with worship of the Enemy of this world, Satan. It is a holiday that generally glorifies the dark things of this world, rather than the light of Jesus Christ, The Truth.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Have you noticed how costumes and masks are getting generally more bloody, gory, and depraved each year? Unfortunately, the gruesome and grotesque and the occult are increasingly glorified in American society, not only on Halloween, but throughout the year in frequent horror movies and television programs
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My family does not celebrate it or participate in it. We do not believe that our children are “missing out,” and neither do they. Other days are used for costumes and parties. Happily, all of our children have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. We have found that Halloween provides an excellent time to remind our children that, as Christians, we are different, and not of this world (Heb. 11:13-16; 1 Pet. 2:11).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What about church “Harvest Festivals” held on October 31? Although we understand the rational and good intentions behind them, we don’t think they are the best approach. Our family tends to agree with the author of an article called “Are ‘Harvest Parties’ for Christians?” (written by a self-avowed former witch and now active Christian). Harvest parties on October 31 tend to assume that “our children need something to take the place of Halloween, since they won’t be participating in the secular and pagan celebrations. It suggests our kids are missing out on something. And indeed they are, if we allow them to spend Halloween in celebration.” There are better things to do on Halloween than partying.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Also, we need to teach our children that “the fight isn’t against occultists, non-Christians, Christians who feel differently than we about Halloween, or institutions that promote Halloween, but” “against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 6:12, NKJV).

A New Year

Isaiah 43: 18
But forget all that - it is nothing compared to what I'm going to do.

God did not forget his people, even though they were in captivity. He planned to give them a new beginning with a new purpose - to turn them into a new people. In times of dire circumstances. it may appear as God has forgotten you. But God may be preparing you, as He did the people of Judah, for a new beginning with Him at the center.

He knows the future, and his plans for us are good and full of hope. This does not mean that we will be spared pain, suffering, or hardship, but that God will see us through to a glorious conclusion.

2012

Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God.

Romans 13: 1
1LET EVERY person be loyally subject to the governing (civil) authorities. For there is no authority except from God [by His permission, His sanction], and those that exist do so by God's appointment.

Twelve is a perfect number, signifying perfection of government, or of governmental perfection. It is found as a multiple in all that has to do rule.

And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healing, helps, governments.....

1 Corinthians 12: 28
So God has appointed some in the church [for His own use]: first apostles (special messengers); second prophets (inspired preachers and expounders); third teachers; then wonder-workers; then those with ability to heal the sick; helpers; administrators; [speakers in] different (unknown) tongues.

Peace

An excerpt from First Light: Women's Daily Devotional& Journal:
James 3: 18
Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness.
How can you sow peace in your life and in those around you today?
Hebrews 12: 14
Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord
What efforts do do you need to make to live at peace with others in your life?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We're learning about what it means to be a peacemaker in church. Sometimes, being a peacemaker means you have to confront some thing. Sometimes, being a peacemaker means persection will come. I used to think peace meant to just stand by and be quiet. But that's not what it means at all.
Nobody likes to be persecuted, but there are times when you have to stand up and say something. If you don't, your just as guilty as the people or persons who are causing problems.
A Christmas Blessing
An excerpt from First Light: Women's Daily Devotional
& Journal:
It was one of those Christmases when the schools didn't dismiss until late December. Amy was teaching and the frenzy of giving finals had left her little time to enjoy the season. She planned to join her husband and three-year-old daughter who had traveled to her mother-in-law's home, where they would spend the holidays. Amy considered herself a veteran flyer, but she was releived to have one of the back seats, statistically the safest seats on the plane.
Amy was just dozing off when the captain announced that they would be going through some turbulence. No problem Amy thought as she cinched her seat belt tighter.
No one was ready for the terrible jolt that caused the plane to drop suddenly. Amy had never experienced turbulence like this. Anxiety was heightened when all the lights went out. She gripped her seat and closed her eyes, "Please, Lord, don't make my little girl spend the Christmas without her mother. Please let all of us reach our loved ones safely".
From somewhere in the front of the plane, came a giggle. With the next jolt the giggle turned into a little girl's hearty laugh that only a child can produce. Soon the child's laughter infected all the passengers. People were laughing and were almost disappointed when the captain announced they were clear of the turbulence.
When they landed safely a short while later, Amy was one of the first to get off the plane. She never did catch a glimpse of the little girl with the infectious laugh, but she was sure God had sent the child to ease their burdens and replace their fears with peace. A Christmas gift from heaven you might say.
When have you received a Christmas gift from heaven?
Luke 2: 10-11
But the angel said to them, Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord".
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When I wake up, and open my eyes each morning, that's a Christmas gift from heaven for me.

I hope that all of you will have an awesome and wonderous Christmas and a blessed New Year!

Purity

An excerpt from First Light: Women's Daily Devotional & Journal:
The boy in the plastic bubble is the story of a young man who, because of a rare disorder in his immune system, is forced to live his entire life cut off from the world. His plastic bubble, free from germs, protects him. He is protected, but he is also imprisoned.
When religous people talk about purity, they leave their listeners with the impression that the Lord's followers are The Christians In The Plastic Bubble. Wanting to be unstained and uninfluenced by the world, we cut ourselves off, fearing contact with those "on the outside". We send our kids to Christian schools. We socialize exclusively with other Christians. We play the Christian "Trivial Pursuit".
But purity, according to biblical standards, is not based on externals. Jesus claims, contrary to Jewish tradition, that it is not what goes into people that defiles them, but what comes out of them (Matthew 15: 17-19)
Why are we so afraid of contaminating ourselves? Jesus wasn't. He rubbed shoulders with the sinful masses, welcomed lepers, had dinner parties with prostitutes and tax collectors, and ate with "unclean hands".
We don't purify our minds and souls by imprisoning ourselves in a bubble of righteousness and refusing to be descrated by the world around us.
Love make us pure. Love creates in us a habit of Christlikeness and a willingness to risk. Love gives us the vision to see Jesus in those around us, and the compassion to get involved. Love frees us from the fear of spiritual infection and strengthens our soul's immune system.
Jesus is the only fortress you will ever need.
How can you reach out to those on the outside of your Christian "bubble"?
Titus 1: 5 (NIV)To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not beleive, nothing is pure.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I can see how this can happen. Some people take that scripture "...come from among them, and be ye separate, says the Lord"..., and they run with it.
But then how can your light shine? I think there has got to be a balance. Which comes with much prayer and seeking the Lord.
