Does anybody have any thoughts or comments on the differences, the positives, and/or the negatives about Etsy and/or Artfire? I posted this question on my Facebook page, but I thought I would put it here too. Thanks!
I haven't, but want to try Artfire, though I still have to renew my visa card...I have been on Etsy for 3 years, and quite content with the site's appearance and organization. I think its better to start slow and move slowly, get the feel of the place and know your prospective customers. Maybe my tip would be: don't buy any online course or invest in anything, just register, set up shop, and learn as-you-go. Btw, Etsy has a lot of free resources and tips for sellers.
A lot depends on how much they charge you. I saw a lot of jewelry there that was supposed to be handcrafted but I don't think it was. That's another thing. You have to make jewelry and not just assemble parts for it to be called "handcrafted" for any museum, why not for an Artfire?
Well, I added myself to ArtFire so we'll see how that goes.
I am on a trial offer for now, and then after thirty days I have to pay to be on there. Hopefully, by the time thirty days comes up, I will have made a sale or two.

I never even heard of Artfire before except here in blogland. I don't even know if most people know about it.
I guess I'm just wondering if I should waste my time and effort an another website to sell things that I make.
